Proposing… our next big adventure
I’ve been building out this itinerary for a little trying to capture as much of Iceland as we could see in a short trip. This is of course all flexible and we can absolutely discuss changes or modifications
Day 1
Sky Lagoon
Kópavogur
The first day is busy as we’d land and immediately get into adventuring. We would first unwind from our flight at Sky Lagoon in Kópavogur. We could enjoy the full traditional Icelandic bathing ritual, a seven step process which is

Suld - A Cold Mist representing the Icelandic Winds

Thingvellir National Park
After the hot spring we’d head to Thingvellir National Park to see two significant landmarks in Iceland. First we’d see the Öxarárfoss Waterfall, The waterfall was formed when the Oxara River was redirected in the 9th century to provide a reliable source of fresh water for Iceland’s earliest lawmakers.
We would then make the short journey within the same park to view the Almannagjá Gorge. This Gorge is the meeting point of the North American and Eurasian Tectonic Plates
Hotel Selfoss
We would end the day at Hotel Selfoss in Selfoss. The hotel sits on the Ölfus River. Selfoss is a Historic town which blends Iceland’s past with a modern present

Day 2
Geysir Geothermal Area
Golden Circle Route
We would leave our hotel after the included breakfast and head to the Geysir Geothermal area where we can see boiling mud pits, and natural Geysers that erupt boiling water every 7-8 minutes. Admission is free minus a $10 dollar parking fee
Gullfoss the Golden Falls
Golden Circle Route
To complete what is known as the Golden Circle Route Tour we would travel to Gullfoss, a powerful waterfall that cascades 105’ into a canyon
Kerið Crater
Grimsnes Area
A natural crater formed when a magma chamber emptied causing the ground above it to collapse. This natural crater lake is a staple of sightseeing in Iceland

We would stay in the same hotel as the first night

Day 3
Wedding Day
Seljalandsfoss
Ring Road
One of the most famous waterfalls in Iceland, this offers a unique experience with a trail that leads behind the falls. This will require water proof clothing and shoes
Gljúfrabúi
Ring Road
A short hike from Seljalandsfoss, Gljúfrabúi is a waterfall hidden within a cave
Skógafoss
Skóga River
Taking a short drive and climbing 527 steps will bring us to Skógafoss, one of the largest waterfalls in Iceland with a view of the coast.
Hotel Vík í Mýrdal
The Southernmost Village
This hotel is located near black sand beaches, and has all of the modern amenities you’d expect in a western hotel
Day 4
Reynisfjara Beach
Vik
A Famous black sand beach on Iceland’s South coast. This is one of Iceland’s most popular attractions while also being one of the most dangerous due to sneaker waves
Fjaðrárgljúfur Canyon
Kirkjubæjarklaustur
Carved by Fjora River at the end of the last ice age these 100’ deep canyons are picturesque and easy to hike
Svartifoss Waterfall

A short hike up to the Black waterfall which flows over hexagonal basalt columns
Fosshotel Glacier Lagoon

A Clean and modern hotel with 2 hot tubs for star gazing
Day 5
Jökulsárlón Glacier Lagoon
Vatnajökull
We can take a boat tour through this glacial lake or do a hike on top of natural formed ice
Diamond Beach (Fellsfjara)
Vatnajökull
Another black sand beach, this time however with scattered chunks of glacial ice throughout. After this we begin a 4-5 hour drive back westward for the final bits of the trip

Day 6
Kirkjufell & Kirkjufellsfoss
The Church Moutain
Kirkjufell is an iconic, church steeple-shaped mountain, and Kirkjufellsfoss is a nearby three-tiered waterfall. Together, this mountain and waterfall combination creates one of the most famous and photographed landscapes in Iceland, located on the Snæfellsnes Peninsula
Arnarstapi & Hellnar
Snæfellsnes
Arnarstapi and Hellnar are two small, historic fishing villages on the southern side of the Snæfellsnes Peninsula in West Iceland, popular for their dramatic coastal scenery and a scenic hiking trail that connects them. The area is a nature reserve known for its unique geology and birdlife.
Búðakirkja (Black Church)

Búðakirkja, the black church of Búðir, is a small, iconic wooden church located on the southern coast of the Snæfellsnes Peninsula in Iceland. It is one of the most photographed churches in the country due to its striking black exterior and dramatic natural surroundings of lava fields and coastline

Krýsuvík / Seltún Geothermal Area

Walking across a small footbridge that symbolically spans the divide between the Eurasian and North American tectonic plates.
